COVID-19 Activity Risk Assessment Guide

As our regions begin to “open up” in the midst of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we’ll need to decide which activities we’re willing to engage in. Although some activities may be legal, we may not feel comfortable participating. How do we decide?

Much of the information I’ve read has been contradictory, incomplete, or confusing. So after extensive research, I’ve created my own, easy-to-use guide to help me make daily decisions about my activities. I’m sharing it here in case others may also find value in it.

In essence, a decision to engage in an activity is deciding how much risk we’re willing to take. Driving a car has its risks, but we no longer think about it before we jump in and go. Until COVID-19 risk assessment becomes second nature, I’ll use the Activity Risk Assessment Guide below. You may download (below the graphic) and use it for free.

  1. Hi Kerry. I am Connie’s sister, Bea. Thanks for creating your Activity Risk Assessment Guide. Practicing social distancing is hard, especially when it’s within your own family. I know that it’s going to get worse once more people lose their fear of being out of quarantine. But, the restrictions being implemented now are a start, a start that is needed to get back to some kind of normalcy, after all, people need to make a living. Say hello to Gloria for me.


    1. Thanks, Bea. Yes, it’s difficult with families. My sister lives in the same town with her children and grandchild but hasn’t seen them since this all started. That’s partly why I put together this Risk Assessment Guide – to help me, and others, understand or construct some scenarios where we can still engage with each other while remaining safe.
